@ Rina's
There are many things I enjoyed about Boston - cobblestone sidewalks, brick houses, narrow streets full of people, weather, coffee shops, farmers markets, Sea Dog Blueberry beer, the Atlantic Ocean, flowers in windows, boutique bookstores, the breaths of history that you can feel as you stroll in the streets. And I will never forget the city's Italian cuisine. Actually, the cuisine in general, but we found ourselves back in Little Italy when it was time to get a snack too much to ignore it. I cannot be easily pleased with Italian cuisine. After spending about eleven consecutive winter vacations in the Italian Dolomites and indulging in homemade everything, I find myself rather picky and spoiled about Italian food. Until I had the honor to try the Boston one 웃
We ate a lot during our trip. Luckily, we also walked quite a bit. Otherwise, I'm not sure how I would get away with the lobster rolls, chowders, pasta, cannoli, gelato, pizza and the list continues ... As far as the Boston food on our trip is concerned, I can say that I ate as much carbs in four days as I would normally eat in maybe four months. But the several hard hot yogas after we returned were worth it.
Places I highly recommend would be:
- Ristorante Limoncello - great pasta and wine.
- Thinking Cup - cozy coffee shop that serves Stumptown Coffee. Tea is good too, and they have a large pastry selection.
- Liquiteria - after eating so many carbs, I was happy to step inside of this hip juice/smoothie bar on Harvard Square. Their menu is impressive and the final product tastes even better than it reads. This place was founded in New York, so look for it there as well. I absolutely loved it!
- Rina's - a tiny pizzeria in Little Italy. A lady in a gift shop recommended it, and we were not disappointed. The pizza was fresh and delicious.
- Cinder & Salt - check out this eco friendly printed apparel.
I want to return to Boston and explore the outsides of it. The next trip will be most likely for longer than four days, because I heard great things about Boston Harbor Islands that surround Boston and would love to explore them. Especially the one where Shutter Island was filmed, as well as the beautiful Nantucket.
